INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indiana State Police say a driver may have saved another man’s life after an overnight crash left the man lying in the middle of road.
This happened around 2 a.m. on eastbound I-70, near the south split.
Police say, based on tire marks on the road, a motorcycle driver ran into the back of a semi and crashed.
The motorcyclist was left lying in the middle of the interstate.
Moments later, another man, Tim Vaughn, and his wife drove up and saw the man lying in the road.
Vaughn called 911 before running into the middle of the interstate to direct traffic around the motorcyclist to make sure no one hit him.
Vaughn stayed there until police arrived.
“It just shocked me because it happened… so fast,” Vaughn said. “We just saw him, and then we got up here and he’s in the middle of the road, hurt.”
Police are trying to determine how the motorcycle driver ran into the back of the semi.
Meanwhile, that driver remains in critical condition at Wishard Memorial Hospital.
Two men have been arrested following an early morning fire on the city’s east …
