Drug use higher in Marion County than surrounding counties

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) -
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Detectives presented new trends on drugs Monday night.

Notably, IMPD says if you have a child and live in Marion County, they are at least 8-12% more likely to use marijuana than kids in surrounding counties.

Just last week, 24-Hour-News 8 reported that heroin use is at an all time high in central Indiana. Today, kids can buy a bag of heroin for about $10- $20.

Officials are saying parents need to take control and investigate. Parents with children who have drug addictions have found drugs in obscure hiding places, like the TV remote, candy bags and pop cans.
