INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A jury of nine men and seven women has been chosen for the trial for a Hamilton County man accused of bilking investors out of millions of dollars.
According to federal prosecutors, thousands of investors fell victim to Indiana businessman Tim Durham and his associates, James Cochran and Rick Snow. The three bilked more than 5,000 investors out of more than $200 million through Durham’s company, Ohio-based Fair Finance, prosecutors said.
Federal agents raided Durham's downtown Indianapolis office in 2009.
Durham, Cochran and Snow were arrested in March 2011 and charged with 12 felonies, including wire and securities fraud. If convicted of all charges, each faces up to 225 years in federal prison.
Jury selection started at Friday at 9 a.m., and the jury was complete by Friday afternoon. Opening statements are set to begin at 8:30 a.m. Monday.
The trial is expected to last three to four weeks.
