Early morning stabbing in east side home

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Metro police say a man stabbed during an early morning dispute remains hospitalized.

IMPD officers were called to dispute between a man and a woman at a residence in the 1600 block of Woodlawn Avenue in Fountain Square just after 1:30 AM.

When they arrived they found a man suffering from a large stab wound to the upper chest.

Police say  when they asked the woman what happened, the man interrupted, "She stabbed me." 

57-year-old Dennis J. Dugan was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital and has been upgraded to stable condition.

The 33 year-old Stacy M. Farmer was taken into police custody.

The case has been turned over to the IMPD Domestic Violence Unit.
