INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - One day after an eastside family moved out, their house was destroyed by fire.
Indianapolis Firefighters were called to the 2300 block of North LaSalle Street at 6:45 am.
The first fire units on the scene found heavy fire and smoke. Thick black smoke could be seen for several miles.
Initially firefighters were told there may be someone trapped inside. However no one was found in their search.
As they began to attack the flames, portions of the house began to collapse.
Firefighters were ordered out of the house when it was determined the house was no longer structurally sound.
Firefighters continued to fight the flames from outside the two-story framed house.
The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
No one was injured. Damage is estimated at $80,000.
