INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Fire crews responded to a residence fire Wednesday afternoon where the cause was later ruled as electrical.
The Indianapolis Fire Department arrived to the 1600 block of South Whittier Place just before 2:15 p.m.
When firefighters arrived they found smoke showing at the residence. The fire was under control within 20 minutes.
Fire investigators with IFD and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department determined electrical was the cause of the fire.
Neither the owner, nor the renter of the building required transport to the hospital.
Crews determined the fire began in a bedroom. Damages are estimated at $16,500.
