INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - One item this year at the annual Elegant Vintage International Wine Auction was made with the help of elephants from the Indianapolis Zoo.

The elephants helped make an Adirondack chair with logs that came from trees recently removed from the Zoo ground, according to a release.

The logs were removed as part of the $20 million International Orangutan Center construction. The elephants stripped the bark from the logs.

Officials at the Zoo say tree bark is part of the elephants’ diet in the wild.

The chair will be auctioned off Saturday night at The Conrad Hotel. The auction benefits the Indianapolis Zoo.
