INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The metro police officer accused of raping a woman this past weekend, while on duty and wearing his uniform, was released from jail Friday.
Officer Courtney Harris posted his $7,500 bond.
Officer Harris admitted having sex with Nikesha House while on duty, and that he paid her $12, but Harris maintains he did not rape her.
However, House claims Officer Harris raped her.
“I'm hurt, I'm mad, I'm angry. Cause he told me nobody would believe me. And it seems like that is exactly what is happening. Nobody is going to believe me," said House.
When asked why she though Officer Harris was getting out?
House responded, “There are people on lesser charges that cannot come home. But and officer can rape somebody and come home.”
Harris has been charged with sexual misconduct, obstruction of justice, and other charges, but not rape.
At the time of Harris' arrest Metro Police Chief Michael Spears released this statement, "Officer Harris's action tarnished the Department and broke the trust that the community has placed in the police department."
