Family fight leads to shooting on east side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A fight between family members ended with one of them being shot early Wednesday morning, police said.
Police and medics were called to the Hawthorne Apartment at 5341 Butler Terrace, near 34th Street and Emerson Avenue, shortly after 1 a.m. on a report of a person shot.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said a man and woman got into a fight, so the woman's stepfather asked the man to leave. That's when witnesses said the stepfather's friend shot the man in the neck.
Paramedics took the victim to Wishard Memorial Hospital in serious condition.
