Family of 4 escapes burning apartment

LAWRENCE, Ind. (WISH) - A Lawrence family of four is OK after escaping their burning apartment early Tuesday morning.

Around 2 a.m., firefighters were called to an apartment building on Old Fairgrounds Drive off Boy Scout Road.

Two adults and two children were asleep inside their apartment when the fire broke out.

Firefighters kept the flames contained to the one apartment.

Investigators said the fire of unknown origin started on a second story balcony.
