INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Two people arguing over whether a dog would urinate inside an apartment were arrested Thursday night when the situation became violent.

The man and the woman both told police the woman had invited the man over to play video games, and he brought his dog, according to an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department report.

Although the man said the dog was trained, the woman was concerned the dog was walking around the apartment with plans to pee. The situation escalated and the woman went out to her car to grab a gun, the report said.

Lauren Carter, 23, began loading her weapon and the man, 20-year-old Brandon Jackson, followed her outside. Jackson said Carter pointing the gun to his head and he was worried, so he took the gun from her, according to the report. Carter said Jackson then hit her in the back of the head with it.

Both parties called police, who arrived to the 5300 block of O’Hara Lane around 8 p.m. Thursday. When officers arrived, Carter had blood on her shirt and wounds to the back of her head.

Carter was arrested on preliminary charges of pointing a firearm, possession of a firearm after a felony conviction and criminal recklessness. Jackson was arrested on two preliminary charges of battery.
