INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis Fire Department firefighters are investigating a late night double residence fire on Indianapolis’ east side.

IFD received a call at about 11:22 p.m. Wednesday for a house fire in the 400 block of North Kealing Avenue. There was smoke showing from the north side of the double second floor window upon arrival, an IFD release said.

A smoke detector on the second floor alerted occupants and they evacuated the home. Nobody was injured.

Firefighters were able to get the fine under control in 15 minutes. IFD Battalion Chief Steve Sterrett estimated the house has $15,000 in damages.
