INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - 5 residents are displaced after a kitchen fire took off and damaged 3 units in an apartment building.
The fire broke out Saturday afternoon around 3:30 pm at 3109 Merrick Lane.
The fire extended into the attic space but firefighters were able to keep the damage to one apartment.
The other two units sustained smoke and water damage.
Investigators say the units had no working smoke detectors.
No one was hurt.
Damage has been estimated at 50-thousand dollars.
The Woods Apartments were built in 1967.
The complex has a total of 321 units.
