INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indianapolis Fire Department battled a two-story vacant residence fire Sunday.

The fire broke out just before 8:30 a.m. in the 700 block of North Lexington.

When firefighters arrived, heavy smoke was showing from the second floor of the home. The home is under construction, so IFD had a difficult time accessing the second floor.

The fire quickly spread into the attic and onto the roof. However, the fire was brought under control within 45 minutes.

Witnesses say smoke could be seen from miles away.

No injuries were reported. This fire is still under investigation.
