INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - When arson investigators have the task of determining if a fire is set intentionally, they often need the help of K-9s.
That's why State Farm and the American Humane Society are sponsoring the National Fire Dog Monument Tour.
The tour made a stop in Indianapolis on Monday, on its way to Washington, D.C. from Denver.
The man behind the vision is an arson dog handler who wanted all arson dogs and their handlers honored. He said it was inspired by a dog who worked 800 fires in Colorado.
Dogs were tested before being part of the fire dog tour. They had to sniff out four people to determine which may have a chemical used in setting fires, such as gas or kerosene.
