INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis firefighters battled an early Tuesday morning house fire on the city’s south side.

According to a release, around 1:52 a.m., firefighters arrived in the 1800 block of Applegate Street and saw a one and a half story home with fire coming out of three of the four sides.

The release said 11 fire units responded and the fire was under control within 30 minutes.

IFD Battalion Chief Kevin Landrum said the estimated damage is $50,000. There were no injuries in the fire and no utilities or working smoke detectors were inside.

The property, which is vacant, has been turned in to the Indianapolis Code Enforcement for possible demolition.

The fire is still under investigation.
