INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis firefighters were called to the scene of a house fire on LeGrande Avenue Wednesday evening.
Resident Pam Fink told firefighters that her cat, Boots was still inside the burning building, and the family was unable to bring the cat out. A firefighter was able to enter the building and brought Boots out to the street. The cat was barely breathing at the time, but with the aid of CPR and an oxygen mask, Boots began to move around again.
Fink said she was taking Boots to the emergency vet for an examination.
Fink believes the fire started in the clothes dryer, which she said had been running non-stop since the morning.
Damage to the home is estimated at $35,000. Nobody was injured.
