INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - 24-Hour News 8 has learned the family of IMPD Officer Jason Fishburn met with the Moore family at the hospital Sunday night.
Police say a man wanted for murder shot Fishburn in the head during a chase back in 2008.
Fishburn survived and is still working for IMPD.
“We mentioned Officer Fishburn, the community came together in support of the officer and the family and that’s what we need right now. We need the support of the entire community -- this is one of their officers out protecting them on a Sunday morning,” said Bill Owensby, President of the Indianapolis Fraternal Order of Police.
Jason Fishburn's father is also an IMPD officer.
