MARION COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - Former Jail Deputy Nathaniel Latimer was arrested Friday for an incident with an arrestee at the Arrestee Process Center on July 28.

Latimer was attempting to process an arrestee when the individual argued with him. Latimer improperly forced the arrestee down, striking his head on a metal bench, according to a release.

The arrestee required medical attention at the APC.

Latimer has been a member of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office since Jan. 2011. He had been on administrative leave while the matter was under investigation.

Upon the issuance of criminal warrants obtained by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, Latimer was terminated, according to a release.

Latimer has been charged with official misconduct, a Class D felony, and battery, a Class A misdemeanor.
