INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Marion County Alcoholic Beverage Board on Monday approved alcohol sales at three Dollar General stores. Two other Dollar General permits were recommended for denial, and another was passed on to the Alcohol and Tobacco Commission without recommendation. A vote on one other DG store was postponed.
Permits for the stores at 3473 Kentucky Ave., 4001 N. High School Road and 8350 Michigan Road were approved with unanimous votes.
Speedway town officials and a local attorney spoke out against a permit for the store at 2310 Cunningham Road. The board voted 3-1 against the permit, recommending denial. The board also recommended denial of a permit for the store at 2800 Westlane Road, on a 3-1 vote.
Churches and nonprofits spoke out against a permit for the store at 95555 Pendleton Pike. The board voted 2-2, meaning it goes to the ATC without recommendation for either approval or denial. The vote on a permit for a store at 8050 Pendleton Pike was postponed until July 2.
