Some freezing rain advisories canceled

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Freezing Rain Advisory has been canceled for several northern Indiana counties due to the warmer temps and mostly rain falling already. A separate Freezing Rain Advisory continues for counties just north of the WISH-TV viewing area from 3 p.m. to midnight Sunday.

Sleet is being reported across central Indiana, and that is mixing with light rain.  Northern Indiana still has a chance for sleet and freezing rain early this evening.  Slick spots are also still possible from Kokomo to Muncie and in areas north of that line.

The Forecast 8 team is advising viewers to stay home Sunday afternoon if possible as roads may still become slick.

According to Forecast 8 Storm Tracker, rain is falling in much of the state.  Sleet may mix in with the rain occasionally, even though our temperatures are slightly above freezing in most places. 

The ice accumulation may happen still from a line just north of Crawfordsville, to Lafayette, to Kokomo and Marion.

The Indiana Department of Transportation says most interstates, U.S. highways and state routes are already pre-treated with salt from Friday's snow storm.

INDOT will adjust its planned deployment of manpower and trucks to respond to the road conditions, according to a release.

The Indy Snow Force had 90 drivers scheduled to report at 11 a.m. Sunday to work a 12-hour shift treating roads.
