INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Aside from using your nose to detect a natural gas leak, there are cheap and easy ways to keep your family safe.
Many natural gas detectors look and operate the same as a smoke or carbon monoxide detector.
Some models detect smoke, carbon monoxide, natural gas and propane. The devices often costs less than $60.
Pat Sullivan of Sullivan Hardware says a natural gas detector is not on most people's to do list, like a carbon monoxide detector. "Traditionally, natural gas alarms just have not been a good seller."
Because they are not great sellers, many stores do not carry them, so make sure you call ahead.
