INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - 43.

That’s how many flu related deaths the Indiana State Health Department says have been reported this season.

But the startling statistics don’t stop there. More than 1,000 people in Marion County have visited the emergency room.

Germs that transfer the flu virus can survive on surfaces like doorknobs and steering wheels for up to 48-hours.

The valet team at the Conrad is heavily exposed to germs

They use sanitizer throughout the day to stay protected.

Gloves serve two purposes.

They wear gloves because of elements but it also helps protect against germs when they are opening and closing doors for guests,” Maddy Barnas said.

So far, they say their method is working.
