INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Three boys are accused of attacking a 12-year-old girl at Francis Scott Key Elementary School.

According to the police report, the attack happened inside the girls’ restroom. The IPS student told police the boys pushed her down and ripped off her shirt and pants.

The one page report goes on to say, the girl started screaming and kicking and scared the boys away.

IPS police are investigating the case the six boys have been suspended from school as the investigation gets underway.

The mother of one of the three boys said over the phone she is sorry to hear what happened to the girl. She also added that there should have been more teacher supervision during that time of day.

A district spokesman tells 24-Hour News 8 the boys were interviewed by police with their parents present. Findings in the investigation will be sent to prosecutors to make a final decision.

Parents outside School 103 were hurt to hear what happened to the 12-year-old girl.

"I think it's sad," said Danielle Perryman, a concerned parent. "It's very sad that she had to go through that."

Parents questioned where the teachers were when the attack happened.

The three boys involved were issued a hall pass to go to the restroom the day of the attack. The girl was also issued a hall pass by the office.

"The school knew where all of these individuals where," said IPS Spokesman John Althardt. "This is not unusual, it's more about behavior then personnel."

A mother of one of the three suspects declined to talk on camera but added her son was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
