INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The Indiana Civil Rights Commission has created a video depicting the history of civil rights in the state.

The 8½-minute video entitled "Indiana's Road to Equality" examines the challenges that Hoosier minorities and women have faced over the decades. It includes interviews with lawmakers, community leaders and current and former Indiana Civil Rights Commission staff.

Commission Executive Director Jamal Smith says it's important that the issues of segregation and widespread discrimination aren't forgotten.

The video created with the help of Indiana Black Expo's Youth Video Institute has been posted online at YouTube .
