INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A hundred years ago, something happened that changed lives and the landscape of Indianapolis forever.

A massive flood covered countless acres of land. But today, few people talk about, or even know about, the disaster.

Angela Giacomelli with the Indiana Historical Society spoke to 24-Hour News 8 Anchor about the flood and the historical society wanting people to share their 1913 flood stories.

Anyone with photos or other items from the 1913 flood should contact the Indiana Historical Society at 317-232-1882.

Press play in the video player for more on the historical society’s plans to remember the flood.
