INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A home in the 1600 block of Carrollton Ave. caught fire on the same day asbestos were scheduled to be removed from the home.
Residents told IFD they smelled something burning from a closet in the home Friday morning. The family quickly evacuated the home as the contractors were arriving to remove the asbestos. The contractors worked to contain the fire until firefighters arrived on scene.
Firefighters arrived on scene just before 8 a.m. and extinguished the remainder of the fire in the attic.
