INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A homeless veteran received a free vehicle on Monday.
Stephanie Coiner served in the Indiana Army National guard as a medic. Since being back, she has fallen into hard times.
To get her life back on track, she's been working a job but had to take a bus to work. It was a two hour commute each way.
The Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation arranged for Coiner to receive a donated vehicle – an SUV. Now she plans to give back.
“I’m going to be a fan and an advocate for HVAF for as long as I can speak because we as veterans, we don’t have to go through this alone,” Coiner said. “There are people out here that are more than willing to help us with whatever we need to do. If you have a desire to make it better, we have the people to help you.”
