INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says a man was found shot dead in a vehicle Monday night.
Police say they received a call about a person shot shortly after 7 p.m. When officers arrived to the 600 block of English Village Lane, they found a person shot in the face, unconscious in a car outside the apartment complex.
The man was pronounced dead on scene. Detectives say they have received conflicting information as to why the victim was at the apartment complex. He is not believed to be a resident of the apartment.
Police say the engine and windshield wipers were still running when they arrived on scene.
There is no motive or suspect at this time although officers have ruled out a self-inflicted gunshot.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-tips.
