INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - IU Health and IOPA held their annual “Show us Your Heart 5K Run/Walk” Saturday and had honorary guests, Spencer and Jo Moore in attendance.

Last year, Jo and Spencer introduced Lance Lewis, lung recipient of fallen son Officer David Moore to the people of Indianapolis at this event.

This year, they led the walk in memory of their son at White River State Park.

According to a press release, there are currently more than 114,247 nationally and 1,426 individuals from Indiana who are waiting for a life-saving organ transplant. Another patient is added to the national waiting list about every 10 minutes.

Individuals are encouraged to register to become an organ, tissue and eye donor by either visiting their local Bureau of Motor Vehicles or by registering on line here .
