INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Thousands of job-seekers are expected to attend the third annual Central Indiana Job Fair Tuesday.
Folks looking for a job are asked to bring a resume and come dressed prepared for an interview.
Over 1,000 jobs are available from 75 local employers. Positions range from entry level to management.
Organizers say this will be a one-stop-shop for job seekers.
“Too many Hoosiers are out of work,” Blake Johnson from Congressman Carson’s office said. “Folks are trying to support their families, they're trying to save for retirement, and we know the best way to do that is to make sure you've got a job that can sustain you. So having an opportunity to come together and having all these employers in one place, we think, is a step in the right direction to addressing that problem for our city and for our county.”
The most recent unemployment figures to compare are from June 2012.
Nationwide unemployment in June was as 8.4 percent.
In Indiana that figure dropped slightly to 8.3 percent.
But in Marion County, the rate jumped to 8.9 percent.
