BALTIMORE (WISH) - The Colts take on the Ravens Sunday in Baltimore and a big staple of the football game is the marching band.

24-Hour News 8 revisited how the Colts came to be, how they were moved out in the middle of the night years ago. After the move, the marching band stayed behind and stayed together.

Friday, the Marching Ravens went around the city to various pep rallies.

The band started more than 60 years ago. When the team moved out, the band was kept together by director John Ziemann.

They were in the city 11 years without a football team and were instrumental in getting one back.

President of the Baltimore Marching Ravens, John Ziemann says, " That city out west, Indianapolis, stole our Baltimore Colts. Yes, stole our Baltimore Colts. We went 11 years without a team the band stayed together. We did 30 NFL games, going around doing different NFL shows, showing we wanted a football team back in Baltimore, " Ziemann said.

"Then, when the Ravens were born in 1996, they adopted the Baltimore marching band into the Baltimore Marching Ravens and were now 66 years old!"
