INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Four hundred of the Midwest’s top cyclists will be flooding the streets of Downtown Indianapolis today for the Indy Criterium Cycling Race and Festival Saturday. This is the largest criterium race in the state.
The race starts at University Park and goes on to Monument Circle. The first race of the day beings at 10:30 a.m. and the elite racers start at 5:30 p.m.
This year, the event will benefit Freewheelin’ Community Bikes, a non-profit which helps underserved youths earn their own bikes with educational programs.
Attendance is free and the event will feature dozens of family-friendly events throughout the day. Events include recreational bike rides through the cultural trial and canal, a DJ, food and drinks from Sun King Brewery.
