IFD holds Fire Safety Olympics

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indianapolis Fire Department is holding their 12th Annual Fire Safety Olympics.
The event takes place every year in October during Fire Prevention Week and thousands of children have taken part.
Since the program began in 2000, IFD says that along with other fire prevention efforts, they have seen a 69 percent decrease in fire fatalities among children 12 years old and younger.
Thursday’s event will have 1,250 first and second graders learning about fire safety.
