IMPD arrests husband for wife's murder

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The husband of a woman shot to death with her children sitting in the car has been arrested.

Officers found 23-year-old Sharon Toran shot Tuesday night on the city’s northeast side. She died at IU Health Methodist Hospital. Her brother was shot in the leg, police say.

Wednesday afternoon, officers said Toran’s husband, 23-year-old Miles Toran, of Hampton, Va., was arrested on preliminary charges of murder and attempted murder.

Sharon Toran was reportedly meeting up with her estranged husband to exchange their children. Officers said interviews with witnesses and Miles Toran led them to arrest him.

The two children in the car at the time of the shooting were not injured. Family members took custody of them at the time of the shooting.
