INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board says Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Chief Rick Hite will not have to complete the 600 hours of training and course work required to become a certified police officer in Indiana.
The board granted Hite the waiver Monday after a review of Hite's record from the Baltimore Police Department.
Hite will now have a year to complete the comprehensive law enforcement exam.
