INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and Ivy Tech Community College have teamed up to cut the cost of completing the police department’s training academy.

The IMPD Career Development Initiative provides classes through Ivy Tech at a 78 percent discount in tuition. Each class will be a mix of IMPD members and Ivy Tech criminal justice students.

As part of the agreement, the IMPD members will mentor the Ivy Tech students in the program.
