INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A naked man in a public area told police he was nude for “opposite day,” according to an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department report.

Several people reported seeing the man wandering Broad Ripple without clothing.

Someone called police to report they saw 19-year-old Leonard Fodera walking down the street around 6:15 p.m. Officers found him in the 800 block of East Lavarock Road, after he was reportedly seen naked several blocks away, near 65th Street and Westfield Boulevard, the report said.

When police asked Fodera why he took a walk while naked, he offered a few responses. He said he wanted to be free and do what he wanted, according to the report. He also said that it was “opposite day.”

“Fine, in that case you are not going to jail for public indecency,” the officer told Fodera, according to the report.

Officers arrested Fodera on a preliminary charge of public indecency.
