INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WISH) - An IMPD Officer was injured after a 3 vehicle crash involving his squad car near Washington Street and Coolidge Street.

The officer was transported to Wishard Memorial Hospital and was conscious when medics arrived. Despite initial reports that the officer was ejected from his vehicle, officials said they couldn't say for sure if that happened.

The accident occurred near a Kroger, east of the intersection. Currently, Washington Street is closed in both directions near Coolidge.

Officers say the on-duty officer was responding to a hit-and-run car that occurred at a Burger King in the area near the accident. The suspect, who police say may have been drinking had driven down Coolidge, a one-way street to flee the area. The suspect then turned around and was heading towards Washington Street when he hit the officer. The officer then hit a pick-up truck.

One adult male and his 7-year-old passenger in the pick-up truck were transported to Wishard Memorial Hospital, both were listed in stable condition.

The suspect in the Ford Fusion was also transported to the hospital.

Everyone involved in the accident will be given a blood draw.
