INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis Metropolitan Police are looking for the driver of a tan S-U-V who fled after crashing into the front yard of a west side residence Tuesday morning.

Shortly after 4 am, emergency crews were dispatched to a home in the 1100 block of West 29th Street after a resident and her son heard a loud noise outside their home.

When crews arrived they found an S-U-V in the front yard of  that location with a live power line still on top of it.

Investigators say the S-U-V apparently lost control, left the roadway, struck a power pole, took out a fence, and ran over some bushes.

The vehicle did come to a stop before striking the home.

Police say they would still like to talk to the driver who took off after the crash.

It is not known if anyone else was in the vehicle at the time.

IPL crews have been called to the scene to take care of the downed power line.
