INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard has postponed a trade mission to the southern Indian city of Hyderabad following a pair of deadly bombings in that city.
Ballard issued a statement Thursday saying the thoughts and prayers of Indianapolis are with the residents of Hyderabad, which he described as a sister city. He says the trip has to be postponed because the government, civic and business leaders Indianapolis officials were scheduled to meet with will be focused on dealing with the bombing.
Authorities say at least 12 people were killed in the explosions Thursday.
The Indianapolis delegation was scheduled to leave for India on Friday.
