INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Fans in Indianapolis were behind their Colts team all season, and that support didn’t let up Sunday. Fans waited in the cold at the Indianapolis International Airport, just to welcome the team home.
Among those greeting fans was kicker Adam Vinatieri and none other than rookie quarterback Andrew Luck.
12-year-old fan Riley Pearson ran up to Luck to get him to sign his football.
“Best quarterback the Colts have had,” he said to 24-Hour News 8.
The excitement at the airport was matched during the game at bars and restaurants across central Indiana. The Blue Crew Sports Grill was just one place drawing big crowds.
“We might not have made it past the wildcard, but we made the playoffs,” said fan Tony York. “Go Colts baby. Go horse.”
From a new quarterback, to coach Chuck Pagano’s very public battle with leukemia, the team has a ton of support at home.
“It’s definitely an inspiration for him to be there with everything he’s going through,” said fan Meghan Donohue.
“10-3 next year. Thank you, Andrew,” added York.
