INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard released the new 2013-2014 Indianapolis School Chooser Guide on Tuesday.

Parents can learn more about the schools in Marion County in the 140-page guide.

The informational guides are available in English and Spanish at all Indianapolis Public Library branches and local Kroger stores and online.

The guide includes key deadlines, transportation, fees and academic data gathered from all 11 public school districts, public charter schools, non-public schools and the Indiana Department of Education to help parents select the right fit for their children.

“I believe the choice, the options for kids and their families are so important because everybody learns differently,” Ballard said. “Everybody fits in differently and we need to make sure that each child has the opportunity to go to the school that best fits their personality.”

This is the second year for the guide.

Last year, 15,000 guides were picked up across the city and it was accessed hundreds of times online .
