Indy Prize finalists visit with guests

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A day full of festivities took place at the Indianapolis Zoo Saturday, starting with Meet a Hero, Be a Hero.

Finalists for the Indianapolis Prize were at the zoo Saturday morning interacting with guests in the Marsh Dolphin Pavilion. The Indianapolis Prize is the world’s leading award for animal conservation.

Saturday evening, actor Josh Duhamel and filmmaker Saba Douglas-Hamilton will co-host an Indianapolis Prize Gala at the JW Marriott Hotel. Guests, finalists, former prize winners, and top flight conservationists will be in attendance.

Dr. Steve Amstrup was named the 2012 Indianapolis Prize winner.

The Indianapolis Prize was initiated in 2004 by the Indianapolis Zoo.
