Police believe a man believed to be behind three shootings over the weekend, also stole a rifle from a Columbus Walmart parking lot.

49-year-old Harold Bishop has been running from police since Saturday. IMPD believes he’s behind the shootings of four people over the weekend.

Police say Bishop goes by several aliases, but many people 24-Hour News 8 spoke with call him Zimbabwe.

Family and friends held a prayer vigil for victim 51-year-old Khalfani Shabazz. Police believe Bishop shot and killed Shabazz at his home on the city’s east side early Saturday morning.

“It’s been hard, it’s just been hard. He wasn't supposed to go like that. He wasn't supposed to go the way he went,” said his daughter, Shaina Kerr.

Shabazz' daughter describes her father as a family man. She says he was a construction worker who owned his own business. She also says he knew his alleged killer.

“This was a friend he had for over 20 years that took his life,” she added.

Family members say Shabazz did work for Harold Bishop, or Zimbabwe as he's called. They believe Zimbabwe killed Shabazz over a money dispute.

Police say Shabazz wasn't Zimbabwe's only victim over the weekend.

Police believe he stopped in a northwest side apartment complex Friday night around 11, shooting a man after asking for $500 back.

Then police say he shot a mother and son after they escaped a fire in their home on the city’s east side. It was right after that, police believe Bishop headed to Shabazz’ home around 7:45 a.m. Saturday.

Bishop is considered armed and dangerous.

Columbus Police said they’re also looking for him in connection with an armed robbery at the Walmart on the city’s west side. They say he showed a gun, then stole a high-powered rifle and ammunition from a customer in the parking lot Monday afternoon. The customer said he’d just bought it.

His image was caught on surveillance video there, and so was his car.

If you have any information on his whereabouts, police say don’t approach him. Call police or Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS.
