INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indianapolis Zoo teamed up with conservation partner The Cheetah Conservation Fund from Namibia, Africa on Tuesday to celebrate the second annual International Cheetah Day.
Organizers hope today draws more attention to importance of saving the cheetah, a critically endangered cat.
Zoo goers can help by taking part in the "Race a Cheetah" activity at the Indianapolis Zoo. Proceeds go directly to the CCF.
The program has raised nearly $40,000 to help rescue cheetahs and train guard dogs in Africa to protect livestock from the cats.
