INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Sunday, changes to the IndyGo services begin.
On Oct. 15, 2012, the Indianapolis City-County Council approved the proposed 2013 IndyGo budget. Changes include more frequent service, a new route, and other service enhancements.
Officials say the changes will be phased in throughout 2013, with major changes beginning in February.
A number of changes to the system go into effect Sunday.
Route 28 will be realigned Sunday, which will result in more late-night and weekend trips to St. Vincent Hospital and St. Vincent Women's Hospital. The route will no longer travel to the Pyramids and Michigan Road.
Additionally, Sunday service on Route 34 will begin. However, the route will no longer travel to ITT Tech and 9900 Michigan Road.
IndyGo will introduce frequent service on three routes for weekdays along Route 39, portions of Route 8, and Route 10. The buses will depart at least every 20 minutes.
The launch of a new route along 86th and 82nd is planned for June 2013. Visit the IndyGo website for more information and to download a printable schedule.
