Indy's Monument gets holiday makeover

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Circle of Lights on Monument Circle will be spruced up this year in honor of its 50th anniversary.

Expected to appear Nov. 5-9, 26 larger-than-life toy soldiers,sailors and peppermint sticks will be placed around the Circle in preparation for the annual Christmas tree lighting the day after Thanksgiving.

The tree sports a grand total of 4,784 lights hung from the top of Monument Circle and will be accompanied by 20 artificial trees around its base, along with four lighted wreaths hung from the base statues.
