INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis Power and Light Company continue efforts to restore power to those affected by Hurricane Sandy in West Virginia.
IPL sent 22 employees on Monday to help restore power and 37 contractors of linemen and tree-trimmers. Crews are working in the snow and against 45 mile per hour winds.
Crews are headquartered in the southwestern part of the state in Beckley and are working 22 miles north in a mountainous area.
Most work is being done at 2,000 to 2,300 feet elevation.
Crews say weather has made working conditions difficult but conditions are expected to improve for the rest of the week.
