INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis Public Schools and community partners announced on Friday they will begin to enroll students in the first year of IPS Preschool.
IPS says it will serve nearly half of the eligible four-year-olds within the district, according to a release.
In the first year of its free, full-day preschool program, district officials believe families will fill spots in the 64 classrooms, serving more than 1,400 students during the 2013 – 2014 school year.
Preschool classes will be offered through two preschool centers, six general education community partner preschool sites, seven existing IPS schools and 13 special education preschool sites.
Families will get their first opportunity to enroll students during the Preschool Information and Application Fair at Arsenal Technical High School on Jan. 19 from 9 a.m. – noon and from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. on Jan. 23.
